For this project, we were tasked with writing a trending story, while using 7 social media elements. Finding the story to write was a challenge, but finding social media elements, that suited the story was the hardest part. It was hard to include all of the social media posts and associate them with my story. I learned how to embed social media into a story and post it on a website.

The new cast of NBC’s, “The Bachelorette”, ranges from men in their early 20’s to early 30’s. If you’re not familiar with the concept, the show has one Bachelor or Bachelorette and 30 other possible love interests. This years Bachelorette, is Clare Crawley. Fans of the franchise have been going crazy about the show not having an age-appropriate cast.

After the Twitter account @RealitySteve posted his reaction, people started reacting to the ages of the new cast members.

Twitter users, @Bella7072, and @olivia0273, want Clare to have a successful relationship in the future. Most fans are scared that due to the age difference, the relationship won’t last, and Crawley will fail again.

As seen above, America isn’t happy with the casting of the new season. This is Crawley’s fourth time at trying to find love on The Bachelor. Fans are wondering why the producers keep choosing members that are friends of old contestants. @Tvalyc, writes,

This issue with casting has been going on for a while, as in Peter’s season of “The Bachelor”, the girls that were casted were thought of as immature. Twitter user, @samgebs, commented on the issue, showing that an “age-appropriate” cast has been a problem for both men and women on the show.

Another controversy is with Clare’s age. Was it appropriate to cast a 39-year-old women as the new face of a reality show? @BachPartyPod, made fun of Crawley by posting this image on twitter.

Some fans approve of Crawley being the bachelorette due to her past relationship to with the show’s “villain”, Juan Pablo. Crawley herself, views her age as “Just more years under her belt.”

Twitter user, @ParrotNoir, commented on the situation in a joking manner, about how Clare might be feeling after knowing the cast for the show.

After-all, the series mission is to help people find love. We will be waiting to find out if Crawley finds her “happily ever after” in this season of “The Bachelorette”.
